Federal Circuit Win for Client Motorola
On July 21st, the Federal Circuit affirmed Klarquist’s prior IPR win at the PTAB for client Motorola, where the PTAB determined that all challenged claims of Largan’s patent U.S. 8,514,499 were obvious. The Federal Circuit issued an opinion finding that substantial evidence supports the Board’s finding that a person of ordinary skill in the art would have been motivated, with a reasonable expectation of success, to implement the prior art lens system with a lower f-number.
Klarquist attorneys Sarah Jelsema, John Vandenberg, Frank Morton-Park, and Andy Mason worked on the appellate brief, and Andy argued the case at the Federal Circuit. Klarquist attorneys Roy Chamcharas, Todd Siegel, Frank Morton-Park, and Andy Mason worked on the PTAB case, and both Frank and Andy argued before the PTAB. Klarquist members Amy Uhl and Stephanie Fulk also assisted.
