Klarquist Welcomes Alexa Johnston as New Partner in 2025
Klarquist is excited to announce the promotion of Alexa Johnston to the firm’s partnership, effective January 2025. Alexa has been a valued member of the firm since 2015, bringing a wealth of experience in intellectual property law.
Alexa counsels clients in all areas of intellectual property law, with an emphasis on patents and trademarks. By integrating her deep knowledge of both science and law, she helps her clients maximize the value of their intellectual property.
Alexa joined Klarquist as a summer associate and later became an associate in 2017 after earning her J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law. She also holds a B.S. in Bioengineering from Oregon State University. Prior to law school, Alexa gained hands-on experience as a processing engineering intern at a winery and a chemical resins company.
With her strong bioengineering background, Alexa has represented clients across a diverse array of industries, including mechanical and electromechanical devices, medical devices and delivery systems, laboratory and diagnostic equipment, manufacturing processes, and consumer products.
Outside of work, when she’s not chasing after her two energetic toddlers with her husband, Alex, Alexa enjoys paddleboarding, hiking, doing crossword puzzles, reading sci-fi and fantasy, and playing board games She also loves to travel and hopes to plan a trip to visit her family in Europe within the next few years.
