AUG 20 CLE: Construe Early, Construe Often: Markman at 30
Join us on Thursday, August 20th at noon for a complimentary CLE examining claim construction beyond the Markman hearing. As Markman v. Westview Instruments turns thirty this year, Ryan Frei & Ziyu Ma will explore the substantive and practical work of claim construction that occurs throughout prosecution and litigation, often outside the hearing that bears the Markman name.
Claim scope begins developing during prosecution and continues to evolve long after the Markman hearing. Drawing on recent Federal Circuit decisions, Ryan and Ziyu will discuss strategies for identifying disputes early, managing positions across forums, building a persuasive record, and preserving claim-construction arguments at every stage.
Attendees will gain practical insights into navigating claim-construction issues throughout the patent lifecycle and developing effective strategies across prosecution and litigation.
