Shawni prepares and prosecutes U.S. patent applications and assists with the preparation and prosecution of international and foreign patent applications.
Shawni is part of our Software group and has a background in applied computing and legal studies. Before law school, she worked in operations and logistics, managing teams, client relations, and business systems at a civil contracting firm. She also held roles in maritime logistics and academic support, gaining hands-on experience in project coordination and technical instruction. Her capstone research focused on improving legal responses to cybercrime, combining her interests in technology and law. Outside of work, she’s an avid paraglider, scuba diver, and kiteboarding enthusiast.
Shawni joined Klarquist in 2024 as a summer associate and became an associate in 2025.
