Overview

Ziyu’s practice focuses on intellectual property litigation, emphasizing efficient, end-to-end execution in discovery-intensive matters. Her experience spans all phases of discovery: drafting discovery letters and motion papers; managing ESI and large-scale productions; preparing deposition outlines and witnesses; crafting and responding to written discovery; distilling technical and factual records; preparing expert-report materials; and supporting mediation with clear, evidence-driven summaries.

Leveraging prior patent-prosecution work, Ziyu brings a practical command of patents, claims, prior art search, and file histories to discovery and motion practice.  Ziyu’s experience includes domestic and international patent counseling across a broad range of technologies, including software, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, batteries, green technology and renewable energy, chemicals, and consumer products.

She also handles copyright and trademark matters—particularly e-commerce marketplace disputes—using a practical, realistic approach that prioritizes fast, cost-effective resolution through negotiation, focused damages analysis, and ADR.

Ziyu currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Oregon State Bar Intellectual Property Section. In law school, she served as managing editor of the IP Theory Journal and as a practice group advisor, further sharpening her research and writing through moot court and patent competitions.

Ziyu joined Klarquist as a summer associate in 2020 and became an associate in 2021.
