Overview

Julia is an associate in the firm’s Mechanical practice group, where she prepares and prosecutes U.S., international, and foreign patent applications. Julia also provides strategic and technical consultation for clients, such as preparing patentability analyses, and developing offensive and defensive prosecution strategies.

Julia has over fifteen years of experience in patent drafting and prosecution for broad range of mechanical and computer science related inventions. For example, Julia’s past work included U.S. and foreign patent portfolio management for companies developing medical devices (including implantable and wearable devices), as well as associated software, data management systems, user interfaces, and surgical techniques.  Prior to patent law, Julia was an Associate Scientist for Life Technologies, where she worked on high-throughput and high-content screening platforms used for toxicology analyses.  She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in molecular biology, and she studied programming and computer science as a post-baccalaureate.

Julia joined Klarquist as a patent agent in 2021 and became an associate in 2025 upon completion of her J.D. at Lewis & Clark Law School.
