Jim focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation involving patents, trademarks, copyrights, domain disputes, and trade secrets. Jim also counsels clients on licensing and other matters involving IP issues.
Before law school, Jim worked in Japan providing CAD/CAM software support to integrated circuit manufacturers. He traces many of his professional interests to those years, and has spoken on related topics such as the patentability of software, protecting software innovation, and what legal realism means in the world of intellectual property. After starting out at Kenyon & Kenyon in New York, Jim joined Klarquist in 1994, and has been a partner since 1998.
