We seek to hire a F/T Biotech Patent Attorney for our office in Portland, Oregon. Successful candidate will research drafting and prosecution of U.S. and foreign patent applications in the biotechnology practice area utilizing comprehensive knowledge of prior art. Conduct legal and procedural research; analysis of scientific and technical documents. Provide legal opinions regarding patent validity and potential infringement issues and freedom to operate; provide legal counsel regarding management of patent portfolios to inventors, patent owners, and patent examiners.
• Juris Doctorate Degree from a U.S. accredited university;
• MSc in Bioscience or Biotechnology, AND BSc in Bioscience or Chemistry; Foreign degrees determined equivalent to degrees from a regionally accredited U.S. educational institution, by a US credentialing agency, accepted;
• 24 months Experience – 24 months of experience must include prosecuting patents in the biotechnology area including chemical, pharmaceutical and immunotherapy sectors;
• Eligibility to obtain a license to practice law in Oregon and eligibility to register with the USPTO;
• Travel required – Travel to conferences and client visits in the US and internationally approximately 10% of the time per year.
