Klarquist Recognized for Community Involvement
Klarquist continues to support the community by providing low-income school children with necessary school supplies each fall. Klarquist participated in Portland’s Schoolhouse Supplies’ “Tools for Schools” sponsorship program. Schoolhouse Supplies is a local not-for-profit organization that supports school children and teachers throughout the year. Klarquist “adopted” Sitton Elementary School in North Portland, enabling Schoolhouse Supplies to purchase and supply over 300 backpacks each full of school supplies – a year’s worth of supplies for every student in the school. Klarquist was one of 19 sponsors this year who participated in purchasing, packing, and distributing backpacks with school supplies for children in low-income neighborhoods and communities. Together, these sponsors collected and distributed $50,000 in school supplies.
