Overview

As a Patent Prosecution Legal Assistant, Christian aids in the preparation, filing, and management of U.S. and international patent applications. He assists attorneys throughout the patent prosecution process, which involves interacting with clients, conducting research, and preparing necessary documentation.

Prior to joining Klarquist, Christian began his legal career as a case manager helping clients file Social Security disability benefit claims and representing claimants at administrative hearings before the Social Security Administration’s Office of Disability Adjudication and Review. He later shifted gears into patent prosecution, first as an IDS specialist, and then as a docketing specialist.

While in grad school at LSU, he taught ancient Greek and medieval European philosophy, and tutored student-athletes in a variety of subjects in the arts, humanities, and social sciences. His philosophical work has primarily covered topics in Zen Buddhism, phenomenology, deconstruction, and postmodern philosophies of art and music.

When not at work, Christian studies the early 19th century, explores the many diverse neighborhoods of southeast Portland, plays tabletop games, cooks French & Cajun cuisine, pursues deep dives into new music genres, and spends far too much time and money in Portland’s many used bookstores.

Christian joined the firm as a Patent Prosecution Assistant in 2024.
