Lawrence prepares and prosecutes U.S. patent applications and assists with the preparation and prosecution of international and foreign patent applications in a range of technical areas.

As a member of the firm’s chemical patent group, Lawrence specializes in computational chemistry, organic chemistry, pharmaceuticals, and biochemistry, and has extensive experience with drug design, structural biology, process engineering, and materials science. He also has experience in software development, artificial intelligence, aerospace, and defense technologies.

Prior to patent law, Lawrence worked in research labs at UCLA, the University of Michigan, Macalester College, the New York State Department of Health, and Ecovative Design. Lawrence also has experience as an officer in the Oregon Army National Guard, and as an editor for Springer Nature Group.
