Shelby handles all types of intellectual property disputes, with a primary focus on patent litigation. She has worked on matters involving a wide range of technologies, including medical devices, databases, electronic design automation, software, life sciences, and biotechnology. Shelby also represents clients in trademark, copyright, design patent, and plant patent disputes.
Shelby’s patent litigation experience includes successful argument of dispositive and non-dispositive motions in federal district courts, as well as handling all phases of fact and expert discovery, including taking and defending of depositions.
In 2024, Shelby volunteered at the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office, chairing several misdemeanor trials in which she conducted voir dire, gave opening and closing statements, and presented and cross-examined witnesses.
Shelby joined Klarquist in 2020, after clerking for the Oregon Court of Appeals.
